When one opens the book it shows the title lined in different font sizes. This continues throughout the book, as it has several introductions since it is an assemblage of 8 Books/parts. Where the new parts start, it shows the name of the book/ the architectural work, with an additon of an image and other formalities. Then it is usually organized with first, an introduction of the work in form of text, followed by the several prints of the building itself and a conclusice text at the end. Sometimes a print with an overview print of the according architectural work comes before an introduction text.
Throughout the collection. There are also schematic graphics that are put on either a title page or on a single page by themself.
The illustrations within the main parts of each book range from perspective views, to ground plan, to very clean sectional drawings, to situational plans, to even mixed formats (like sudden close ups of cheminées) accopanied with descriptional texts.
However, the illustrations are mostly presented double sided, sometimes even vertically foldouts, but are sure given enough space. Of course, given the old format of printing, there’s an blank double page between the illustrational prints.
As not each book is organized in similar fashion within this collection, sometimes the descriptive text of the according book is interrupted by the illustrations, once at least, where there is a list of references to the marked within the illustration. Then, the text seems more like a direct commentary to the illustration.
So all in all, the collection of Pierre Post’s works is a collection of illustrations showing his architectural doings, sometimes with a variable amount of decriptive text, but mostly introduced with big font titles, schemes and sometimes an overview of the following work. It also shows some nice decorative drawings to give some Books a more elegant appereance. It seems to be a specific selection and hommage to Pierre Post life’s work.
