The book “le due parti della geometria famigliare” is made up of a single column located in the centre of the page. The text consists of short periods organized in short paragraphs and there is little separation space between one line and the next. Both the side and top and bottom margins have the same thickness, thus creating a sort of frame.
The author proposes an in-depth description of the themes he presents in his book. For this reason there is more text than images.
The parts of the text are accompanied by drawings of architectonic elements and geometric figures carried out directly by the author of the book. The designs of the architectural elements take up much more space than the geometric representations. Very often the figures are accompanied by short descriptive paragraphs or lie directly within the text and they are not introduced by title. The images follow a numbering and are called by Capra: figures. In fact, at the beginning of the book, in addition to finding the index with the topics covered by the author, we find the index of the tables. In this index there is a list of the figures that the author presents in the book.
In my opinion the book “le due parti della geometria famigliare” of Cara should be read as a manual. Through textual and illustrative descriptions he wants to bring geometric notions to the reader and at the same time bring examples belonging to the field of architecture. Through “the two parts of family geometry”, the author wants to enhance the importance of geometry in buildings.
