In Palladios Work “I Quattro Libri dell Architettura” he analyzes and describes architectural properties and defines clear and relatively simple rules. His work consist of a total of four books, which individually focuses on a respective topic and really goes into depth in a fashion never done before. He simplifies the different orders of columns into different sized modules and sets them into proportion, so as to generate the same outcome, but with a far easier approach.
Throughout all four oeuvres, he illustrates these rule and properties very accurately with detailed and beautiful hand-drawn sketches, plots or plans. He demonstrates his newly added rules and ideas in a very effective manner and demolishes every doubt the reader could come up with during his session studying this piece of historical architecture.
Most of the images are very big and hand-drawn. With his precision and skill, Palladio manages to show every facette of his newly created rules and successfully illustrates different practical applications.
