The text on the pages of the book is basically always a description of the top view of a plan in military perspective. The illustration of the plans is always located in the upper half of the right-hand page. They contain two to three sentences each describing the plan or are building instructions. Furthermore, there is regularly a short description on the lower side of the right side page, which always shows the ground plan of the object from above. Only the right side is completed with the two plans, the left side remains empty until the mentioned summary. These plans are glued into the pages about 60 times and thus form a collection of different fortifications. Since it is made like a photo album, I think that they could only be glued on one page, at that time. Otherwise there would probably have been problems with bookbinding. In total there are about 60 variants of plans of fortifications at that time. A longer text can only be found at the end of the book, a kind of summarizing construction manual. This double-page construction manual is placed under a floor plan of another variant of fortifications.
In relation to the text, the pictures are of whatever category the plans of the two mentioned, axometry in military perspective and ground plan, are much more weighted. The texts are short analyses and underpin the graphical representation of the plan.
So this book is a compilation of plans and isometric views.
