Page two is the first page on which the author describes his fascination for the art of water in combination with buildings. He also gives us a short introduction to what he has done so far and what he wants to do.
On pages 3 to 5 he describes the sketches we see later in his work. It is interesting that the illustrations are not right next to the text. For example, figure 1 appears on page 20, although the corresponding test is already on the first pages. The author uses numbers and letters to show us where we can see his description in the drawing.
When we look at the illustrations, we see that they were not drawn by the author Caspar Walter himself, but by his co-author Lucas Voch.
