Before the first chapter begins, some technical terms about the different parts of a building are introduced. Furthermore on page 28 the decoration around the first letter and the repetition of the book title with the image on the top attracts attention. At the end of the page, the next word is already printed, so the reader knows how the text continues.

Page 101/102
The book shows also how tiles and bricks are burned in a kiln. In this example, the caption is printed on the next page – contrary to page 27.
Moreover page 102 shows a short description about the difference between burning brick in a kiln or in clamps.

Page 896/897
The author shows the reader the function of the different arches of a stone bridge and how this bridge has to be decorated. Page 897 is one of the rarely pages which can be pulled out and therefore captured my full attention.
