These first two pages introduce the book and captivate the attention of the reader. A drawing depicts architects and important pieces of architecture from different eras such as a pyramid, temple and the colosseum.
This drawing is followed by an introductory page with the title, authors and information about the print, including an image of the renowned pantheon.

Here the Corinthian order is depicted and described. The many intricate details caught my attention, and it is very interesting how the pillars of each temple can be compared in this arrangement.

On this spread a new book is introduced, namely book 7 about exterior decorations. Before a new book is introduced, a picture that fits to the theme is to the left of the introduction. This one depicts the piers at Coleshill by architect Inigo Jones.
