The following three pages of the book „Colona Traiana eretta dal Senato“ caught my eye:
The first picture shows a page on which no drawing adorns what is written, it is the only page without a picture, except the title page. The text is addressed to the readers (A LETTORI) and probably wants to draw all attention to the written.The next page is very special because it is three times as long as a normal book page. The picture of the column folds out so that one can take a closer look at the „Colona Traiana“ with all its details. The last picture is the only one in which a woman is the centre of attention. Mostly battle scenes are shown, which are dominated by men.
