“Logometron architecturae militaris Freitagianae”, Andreas Alexander, 1665
I chose these two pages due to their extraordinary appearance compared to all other pages (the other pages consist of text or geometric drawings). The page format of the first page is special because you can unfold it twice. The second page ist the only drawing with some detail and some kind of hatching.I was very surprised how small the book is in real life, it is about 10×15 cm big and about 2 cm thick. Furthermore I noticed that it has two different types of pages, the text pages are slightly thicker than the drawing pages and the colouring is different.

Hello! The book that i analyzed is „Lo inganno de gl’occhi“ by Pietro Accolti. While browsing through the blog, your „Greetings“ post stood out to me, because of the geometric drawings that you photographed. That was also what I found most fascinating about my book.
Also both books were written only 40 years apart in the 17th century.
While the drawings might look similar, the purpose of our books are quite different. “Logometron architecturae militaris Freitagianae” goes deep in the field of architecture and actual physical construction, while mine covers similar themes but in a more general sense, mostly not referring to architecture.
What really surprised me about my book was its size in real life. Since it’s about plans and descriptions of beautiful mansions, you would think it’s a relatively big book, or at least “normal sized” with a lot of room for the handmade illustrations and descriptions. Instead it was very small, with plans and illustrations that fold out of it.
I heard from other students how big and heavy their book was when they first “met” it. I expected the same. And I wondered if anybody else had the same experience as me.
Your book looks about the same size as mine, although your books format is clearly different. But you also have these bigger illustrations that fold out.
