I chose this first spread for its uniqueness of being the only spread spanning over both pages of the book. For what reason is unclear but it stands to reason that it was the only situation in wich the graphc required the author to use all the space available. This makes these two pages stand out and feel like sketches in comparison to the rest of the book which is much more organized.
This spread stood out to me because it features a drawing of a ruined pillar which creates a a stark contrast to the other drawings. It raises the question if he drew this pillar like he did to make room for the graph featuring some form of trigonometry or to highlight some form of outdatedness.
This spread was chosen for its blend of drawing and mathematical analysis of the drawing. There is no other page that gives off a similar vibe, they are all either drawings or geometrical concepts.

In summary all of the spreads were chosen because they stood out to me for their uniqueness in comparison to the rest of the book.
