FRIENDS WITH AN OLD BOOK

#20-917-266 #Alberghetti #Task_2 - Archived

Posted on 11/18/202009/13/2021

In his book “ Compendio della Fortificatione “, Alberghetti looked into the art of building a fortress in two parts. He focusses especially on how the walls should be constructed: thickness, height and even shape.

On page 33 / 34 we can see various ways of how to put walls together, in order for them to be efficient for the citizens who live within the walls, but also for warfare so the fortress would survive for the longest time possible.

On page 5 / 6 he goes more into detail on how a single wall piece should be put together.

Page 15 / 16 seems to be a summary of the chapters 6 and 7 in part 1, with different images and a table with measurements or other numbers.

(I don’t speak Italian, so all of what I say is pure assumption and thoughts I had when looking through the pages.)
