Diversi Ornamenti capricciosi per depositi o altari (Various curious ornaments for altars or deposits) is a collection of designs for altars, written by Giovanni Battista Montano. The author was primarily known as a sculptor and a wood carver and later dedicated his life to his work as a designer and researcher of ancient architecture.

The book measures 300 mm to 380 mm and illustrates a series of drawings of various dimensions and doesn’t follow a particular structure nor has chapters or paragraphs if not a few brief information about some of the altars. It also contains drawings and annotations from Giovanni Battista Bertani on Ionic Columns.

Giovanni Battista Montano’s work contains the title page and a dedication to the cardinal Ippolito Aldobrandino. The book is made of ninety pages and shows forty images.
