The book “Kurtzgefasste Einleitung zur Perspectiv” by Johann Christoph Bischof published in 1774 consists of two main parts, more specific a text-part and an appendix with drawings. During the text he often refers to the figures found in the second part, thus one has to scroll back and forward and not read the book in a continuous mood. Exception is found only for the first two pages, where an illustration is found next to the title page. In addition, the drawings at the back are all illustrated in a folded paper form, meaning that one has to open and close the tap in order to continue reading.
Christoph Bischof generally writes in German language, although it is very hard to understand due to the old font and spelling which varies with today’s German. He covers topics as perspective, light, optical effects as well as painting colors and color pigments although there are no colors used in the book. The book does not contain any form of content.
The book consists of roughly 150 pages, from which around 50 pages belong to the appendix, the illustrations. The book has approximately a width of 11 cm , a height of 17 cm and a thickness of 2 cm. The front cover has no title nor author
illustrated, instead it consist of a plain brown-beige design. The title is then found on the second page of the book.
