General Subject:
The book Porte d’architettura rustica by Orazio Peruzzi is part of a miscellany of different books about doorways and portals. The act by Peruzzi only consists of illustrations (etchings) and all of them show – as the title already says – different doorways of rustic architecture. Most of the illustrations are aligned in an upright format an do perfectly fit the pages. Only one of them is laid-out as a landscape format and another one is slightly bigger than the size of the page and can therefore be unfolded.
Organisation of the book:
There is no proper organisation as the book is rather a collection of different drawings/etchings than a piece of literature. Furthermore, there is no list of content and the single illustrations do not have any titles.
Size of the book:
The book has a height of 315 millimetres and therefore belongs to the category Folio in terms of standard book sizes. It is 250 millimetres wide and 40 millimetres thick.
Total number of pages and illustrations:
The book consists of one front page and 19 further sheets which are all printed on only one side. Since every page shows an illustration, the book has a total amount of 19 illustrations. (Because the book is very short and there was no digital version available until now, you can find the full book attached as a PDF)
