(Connection with: “De Ali Obelischi di Roma” written by Michele Mercati)
Hello! When i was searching for a Connection for my book “Le Fontane di Roma nelle piazze, e luoghi publici della città” by Giovanni Battista Falda i started my search with the word “Rome”. The first book I came across was your book “De Ali Obelischi di Roma” written by Michele Mercati. Your book appears to be an in-depth survey of Egyptian obelisks and their presence in Rome. Even though my book is written in 1648 and your book is written in the year 1589, our book has a lot in common. For example the are both written about the city of Rome and are both written in Italian. In my Xenotheka research i was dealt with the history of my book and how the fountains came to the city of Rome. It said that at the time the dome of St Peter’s was completed (1590), the Pope was submitting the city of Rome the most dramatic treatment it had ever received. New streets, Egyptian obelisks and loads of water fountains were built at that time. Our book is connected through the history of the ancient Rome.
