The first book I found while searching for a similar book to Johann Jacob Schüblers book „Synopsis architecture cavils elective“ was the book „Architectura militaris“, written by Andreas Cellarius in 1645. Like Schüblers book it is also written in Old German. Also the font is very similar. The way the letters are printed is distinctive. However the type of drawings are very different. They are though accurate perspective drawings, however of details and not of hole buildings. But you can tell that both had the same claim on their drawings. Another similarity is the time in which the authors lived and wrote in. Johan Jacob Schübler was „only“ born 40 y4 years after Andreas Cellarius published his book. I Think time is often a big similarity because often the interests are then more similar.

The second book I found, which is connected to my book „Synopsis architecture cavils elective“ by Johann Jacob Schübler, was a book called “Instituzione pratica dell’ architettura civile per la decorazione de’ pubblici, e privati edifice” written by an itialian author called Paolo Federico Bianchi. I found it while searching for „civilis“. The titles of the books are quite similar and let expect that the books have things in common. Similar to Schülers book it has many drawings and the books begin with an impression of what the books are about. Also the structurer and look of both books shows many similarities. In both books the sites showing pictures do not have page numbers. Both coverings are kept very simple. The cover does not have prints on it just some color structure at Bianchis book. Both books just have a simple name tag at the side. Althoug the language and the origin country origin is different, both books have many similarities.
