I have chosen a spread where a capital is explained by Dieussart. Its fascinating how well the Corinthian capital is illustrated, considering it was graved in copper almost 400 years ago and then printed on the paper.
The Illustration not only shows the Ionic capital. It shows the whole collum and the Architrav on top of it. Here I find the decoration of the Architrav very interesting and its fascinating, how much detail went into ancient Architecture.
Unlike the other two spreads, this one describes the proportions of windows. On the pages with illustrations is almost no text. The explanation can therefore be found on the other page of the spread.
