The new and unusual friendship which revived from time to time, meant a welcomed change in the everyday university life. especially at the beginning, I looked forward to the task with joy. This was particularly because I like books, libraries and all the stories associated with them, as well as the whole idea of getting to know something you would probably not encounter otherwise. This attitude was particularly evident in the second task, where I got in contact with the book as well as with the beautiful Werner Oechslin library and the exhibition on the festive architecture which was presented at that time. however, there were also parts of the task that I would have wished otherwise. Even though I am aware that researching a book and its history is an integral part of such a task, I think it could have been more compressed and perhaps supplemented by personal observations or a more creative task. Another nice addition would have been an input on how to use books and the knowledge as a research tool to find valuable sources and examples which we could benefit from also in other courses. I think a friendship only works if you find something interesting where you can gain a personal connection. I missed this part especially when I sat in front of my computer and finished the task just to hand it in. I think in the end, I will remember the lovely afternoon and the conversation with the librarian in the Werner Oechslin library as the highlight of the hole assignment and even though some tasks could have been merged into one, I am almost certain that I will still remember the book in ten years. Since I don’t think I can say that about a lot of the other projects I think that the task worked well overall.
