Greetings_59 Posted on 11/09/202111/10/2021 I chose this page due to the rhythm of circles and their interplay with complex decorations and texts as well as the rich symbolism pertaining to the winds. I chose this page as I thought the lines and shadows make the base of the column pop out of the page and contrast with the less realistic and more symbolic drawings in the rest of the work; additionally, the repeated shape to the right gives it an interesting graphic presentation – a “ghost” or shadow like a thing of the past might have. The book is not bound up entirely in calfskin as I might have expected but only on the “exposed side” visible in a library and that bears considerable signs of wear. The pages themselves are in part shredded, exposing the fibres of the paper, and show the signs of dampness or exposure to rain.
