InParadossi per pratticare la prospettivathe author, Giulio Troili, explains to the reader how to draw plans and elevations in perspective and describes the use of visual deception. The written pages are accompanied by illustration, to make it clear to the reader how to draw.
The book is 30 cm x 22 cm (format Folio), The book has 184 pages and it’s organized in one volume composed of 3 sections (120 pages the first two sections and 64 the third), the third section is in turn divided into two parts.
In the first two sections the illustrations are full-page woodcuts within floral borders and occupy almost half of the pages. In those illustration the paradoxes are mainly concerned with the perspective of art and architecture, but sometimes it’s also explained how to applicate the perspective to parallelograms. The written pages are also decorated with other drawings, like flowers, vases, symbols, or human figures. The third section has just a few of those decorative woodcuts.
A peculiarity of this book is that, despite the rubrication, the pages weren’t bound in the correct order, so the numeration of the pages isn’t right.
