The book “L’Architetto Prattico” written by Giovanni Biagio Amico is divided in five distinct parts.
Part number one includes four chapters which are dealing wih the subject principles of geometry and some practical rules.Part number two has 20 chapters. It’s about the building itself. The illustrations in this part show us how people are building, how they measure distances and some pictures of their tools.Part number three follows with another 14 chapters about the proportion of ornaments and architectural orders.The penultimate part includes eight chapters. Subject is the defect of orders.And the final part number five with its 7 chapters is dealing with the defect of certain members and ornaments of architectural orders.
The size of the book measures 29 x 20 x 2.5cm what is called “quarto” in accordance to traditional standard format. My book has 220 pages and 93 illustrations.
