I think your book has some similarities to mine regarding its illustrations and layout.
Mine ( Perspectiva pictorum et architectorum, from Andrea Pozzo)also has some illustrations concerning defensive wall infrastructure. Even the shape of the walls you showed in your photos is very similar to the ones Pozzo is showing.
The layout is also very similar. Both are books seem to have Pages dedicated to either text or pictures and their covers are pretty minimalistic. Because they were made in the same time period it would be interesting to know if they knew of the work of each other.

Your illustrations of walls look very similar to my book Perspectiva pictorum et architectorum from Andrea Pozzo. Also your book looks like its designed to inform the reader, and isn’t appealing to someone who isn’t intending on studying this subject heavily. But your book seems to be a lot more about the actual working of the walls and material, while my book is more about the drawing and planning of said walls. Also your book is from roughly the same time as mine, which could explain why the walls pictured are so similar.
Also both books don’t have very decorative covers and have a pretty simple layout.
