The title
The title of my book is „Paradossi per pratticare la prospettiva senza saperla“, which means „Paradoxes to practice the perspective without knowing it“ in English. So the book is about being able to draw perspectives even without knowing them. I guess, that the book is made for architects or painters so that they can make drawings of buildings.
List of contents
My book has quite a long list of content. As it is written in Italian, which I don’t speak, it is quite hard to know what is written in there. I suppose it is written in an older Italian, so I can’t translate all the words either. All that I’m left to do is to guess what it means. I think, the book is split into two parts. From the looks of the pages, I feel like the first part is more about basic geometry as a tool to draw. The second part is more about actually drawing perspectives with those tools.
Illustrations
The book has many illustrations. Some of them are beautiful drawings, others I feel like are instructions how to use the tools of geometry and how to draw perspectives.
Size/format
The book is quite big (more or less 30 cm high) but not that thick (about two to three centimeters). The cover is some kind of carton with structure which kind of looks like very used leather.
Author
The author, Guilio Triole, was a painter in the Baroque period. Because of this book, he was later referred to as “il Paradosso” (the paradox). I think, that his profession in regard to the book speaks for itself. Probably, he wanted to write this book, so that everybody would be able to draw perspectives even if they don’t know it.
