The book Ĺ’uvres d’architecture de Marie-Jospeh Peyeres is part of the e-rara collection and stored as an original in the Central Library of the ETH. The author and architect Marie-Joseph Peyre describes – according to his own introduction – various projects and typologies of several architectural works which he wants to highlight after his studies in Italy. Among other things, he describes a rotunda, a burial chapel and a church portal. In addition to many short descriptive texts, there are illustrations of the ground plan and the views of the buildings. The addressee of the book is the advisor of the king Marquis de Marigny.
Every described building forms a chapter and is constructed according to a similar pattern. The illustrations are always followed by the short description on the adjacent page. Some of the plans are bigger than the pages of the book, which is why they are folded to fit the format. Each chapter is separated by a blank page.
The book has 29 pages and about 22 illustrations. The dimensions are 32 x 47 cm. This corresponds to the Folio format according to the traditional standard format.
