hi there 🙂 I found your post by searching about France. I have the book „Topographia Galliae vol.1“ written by Martin Zeiller and I think your book is similar in topics with mine because they‘re both about France and my title is also extremely long. I can also not read my book and struggled because it‘s written in an old german and I even thought at first, that it is french because of the many french words in it. In my book the illustrations are also very large, carefully folded and glued into the book. And lastly, content-wise the books have also similarities, but mine isn‘t about just one specific region in France and more about the landscape and less specific and detailed about certain houses like yours.

hi there:) We have the same author! My book is called „Topographia Galliae vol.1“. I was very confused at first because our books look so similar in appearance and thought that we have the same book. I am still not 100% sure because your book starts with the same title but another subtitle. Your book has also this red-inked paperedges and many large illustrations that are very detailed. I assume they’re also from the same artist. The large illustrations are also carefully folded and glued into the book with empty pages following. Your booktitle indicates that it is the fourth part of this bookseries and specifically about Burgundy. Martin Zeiller seems to have documented and written about many different regions in France.
