I searched through the blog and came across your blog post. As I read your essay the first paragraph reminded me of my book: „Archisesto” by Otto Revesi Bruti. The title of your book „Architectura” is the same as of my book „Archisesto” only in a different language. My book is all about the five orders of classical architecture and each order is described in its own dedicated chapter like in your book. Every element is portrayed in a very detailed way too. Eventually the explications, always accompanied by sketches and drawings, describe each order, from how to distinguish one from another to how to perfect the ornaments and that caught my attention too, since it is similar to my book.

My book is written in Italian and I don’t understand the language too. I also looked at the drawings since they help to understand the context of the book. Same as your book mine is also filled with a lot of detailed, mathematical drawings of columns and ornaments. Funny, how both our search strategy was exactly the same. I’ve also typed terms such as „ornaments” or „geometry” in Alice and I almost chose the same book for the last task but I have chosen another one. I have taken a look at your book and I have noticed that your book also talks about orders and each order is described in its own dedicated chapter. Although my book was written several hundred years earlier, I can see similarities in text, form and design.
