I stumbled upon this post while searching books similar to mine. It seems our books share the topic of the use of architecture in war. It sounds as though your book is written in German, whereas the author of mine is Italian.
I think Christoph Heidemann and Pietro Ruggiero both pursued the same goal in writing their books. They both seem to want to share their knowledge of military engineering, using technical drawings and sketches to illustrate their knowledge.
In contrast to your book, Pietro Ruggiero’s “La military architettura” is rather thick and overall quite a large book.

I found this blog post about the book “Architectura militaris” while searching for books about military construction and military engineering. I think our books are similar in the sense that both authors intend to share what they know about the use and construction of fortifications.
They both use drawings and tables to explain their thinking.
In contrast to your author, mine was not and astronomer. He was a Frenchman who settled in Milan with a history as a mercenary. This also means that “La military architettura” was written in Italian.
