When I opened Alice to find some books who are related to mine, I’ve used the Xenotheka Library as Alice’s brain, architecture as the topic of the conversation and typed in country houses because my book is about to of the most beautiful country houses of Pliny. The first thing that popped up was Modern Architectural Theory by Mallgrave but when reading the quotes I noticed that it doesn’t have a very big connection to my book so I kept scrolling. The second book that came up was called Twentieth Century Architecture by Leatherbarrow Eisenschmidt. This book had even less in common with our book so I decided to do another search.
For my second search attempt I’ve used the Architecture Library as Alice’s brain and typed in plans and descriptionsbecause this is also in our title, just in French. The same books turned up with this search so I started thinking they might have more in common with our book than I first realized. But my thoughts were soon interrupted as I stumbled over the book Eighteen Century Architecture by Van Eck. What caught my attention was the quotation of the other version of our book which is called Les plans et les descriptions de deux de plus belles maisons de campagne de Pline le consul. I remembered that I already found out in the task 2 that there were two Plinys which were brothers. And apparently the book by Van Eck was referring to our book about the houses of Pliny the Younger who was a Roman consul. The book itself is, as the name already said, about architecture in the 18th century and is also referring to the two houses my book is about.
