For my first search on Alice I chose “Xenotheka” as brain and as topic of conversation I choose of course “architecture“. For my first search I have chosen the words “Les Plans Et Les Descriptions de Deux Des Plus Belles Maisons” as they are the title and the main topic of my book, so I thought I can achieve the greatest similarities. Once I hit “explore” the first two books were Mallgrave, Modern Architectural Theory and Koolhaas, Elements of Architecture. Both didn´t sound very interesting and also their topics didn´t seem to be very close to what my book is about. But the third suggestion Van Eck, Eighteenth Century Architecture with the quote “Les plans et les descriptions de deux des plus belles maisons de champagne de Pline le Consul.” aroused my attention, because this is exactly the title of my book. So I guess the book, since it discribes architecture of the 18th century, partly writes about the content of my book. After I downloaded the book on Xenotheka I can confirm, the book is a collection of famous and beautiful architecture of the 18th century, and so it also is about the two maisons of my book.
For my second search I went with a different brain, so this time I chose “Architecture Library“. For my search title I choose “ancient and Gothic architecture” which is also an important topic of my book and in the second half of its title. A Result with the biggest common accord was the book Schumacher, The Autopoiesis of Architecture Vol2. One of the quotes from the book catched my attention, it says “During the reign of the great Classical styles of architecture – Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque – all architecture was commissioned and directly controlled by political power.” which I think, is a pretty interesting assumption. But furthermore the book is an typical book about theory and history of 18th century architecture, while my book is only about two specific buildings. So the architectural epoch may be the only binding factor between these two books.
