First I wrote down some words, that I thought to stand in connection with the topic of my book: Fortification, attack, defense, warfare, attack, etc.
Next I had planned to type them into Alice and get my results. Easy as that. But I had some trouble figuring Alice out. It took me a while but I eventually got it. I used the “Xenotheka Library” and the “Architecture” and “build” for the topic of conversation in Alice.
Alice showed a lot of different search results, what made it difficult to choose which ones I wanted to look at more closely. There were also a lot of books that weren’t fitting or drifting in a different direction than what I was after. After reading a lot of introducing texts I could finally choose two books to look at even more closely.
The first one I choose was: Kruft, A History of Architectural Theory
In total it’s more about the general history of architecture, but I thought that the specific results that popped up, when I searched for “warfare” and “fortifications” as well, very matching to my original book.
The second one I chose was: Koolhaas, Elements of Architecture

The reason why I choose this one is, because it it written the way my book is illustrated. So the language from one are translatable to the illustrations from the other.
