My book is “Insignium Romae templorum”, a book made by “Giovanni Giacomo de Rossi”, I took various steps to narrow down the search for comparable book with the help of Alice.
First of I defined the “order” for architecture since my book has it focus on architectural buildings and designs and resumed by just tipped the name of the book and author in the search bar to no satisfying prevail. I then played around a bit with various possible words that might get a good connection until I reached some interesting connection.
The keywords I used with “Alice” to get good connections was first the name of a particular nice building and then the date of the authors lifespan (1627-1691).
McPhee, Bernini and the Bell Towers, it has a rather intriguing connection for it is the only that appeared when entering the name of the building in Alice’s search engine, which until then didn’t happen. After further inspection I noticed that the book similar to my designated book has a lot of pictures of various intriguing building and constructions, but unlike Insignium Romae templorum it is full of text and explanations making it more informative and insight.
The buildings look similar in the pictures at first glace because of their designs and “stucks”.
A history of Architectural theory- from Vitruvius to the present (HANNO-WALTER KRUFT), has a fabulous relation ship with my book. Insignium Romae templorum has almost no text but plenty of fascinating pictures, while on the other hand A history of Architectural theory is full of fascinating text, which makes for a great dynamic.
In conclusion it took me quite a while to find suitable books between so many others “Alice” showed to me. I am amazed how many different things “Alice” is capable of and will use it again in the future.
