“Logometron architecturae militaris Freitagianae” or in german “Kunstmass der Freitagischen Bevestigung“ is written by Andreas Alexander in 1665. The book is written in german while the title is in latin. As Alexander was working as an architect, he dedicated this work to architecture. More specificly on the matter of circle sector: The part of a circle enclosed by two radii of a circle and their intercepted arc. A pie-shaped part of a circle.
The book is split into chapters and starts of with an Introduction of the circle sector in the „Vorbericht“. The chapters are not listed in a table of contents, instead they are marked on the center of the according paragraph. Then a series of arithmetic problems regarding the circle sector follows. As you progress in the book they become more and More complex. Furthermore he eloborates on the military fortification and its geometry. On the latter part of the book in the appendix Alexander illustrates various scales and precise geometry.
The physical book itself is of a small size. It is very compact and only consists of 94 pages. It is also very light and has a green cover. I found the book rather hard to read as it was written in Old High German and in addition to that he used a blackletter font.
