The Book contains a large amount of very detailed illustrations of architectural components like stairways, domes, cornices etc. whilst also showing floor plans and sections of the building. It also contains images of historical moments and conflicts

Its not extremely thick but it’s a very large book which makes sense considering it has many big illustrations in it with lots of details. The Book Cover is made out of leather and is really heavy.
- Author: who wrote the book? What was their background and occupation? What do you think they wanted to achieve with this book?
The author of this book was Charles le Brun. Le Brun was the first painter of the royal family and he got the great opportunity to prove his ability to unite the arts of architecture, sculpture and painting with this staircase. I think its also a great architectural documentation of Versailles.
