Jean-Baptiste Rondelet, Mémoire historique sur le Dôme du Panthéon Français
Paris, 1797
The book has 118 pages and at the end are additional foldable plans.
I choose two pictures of the foldable plans at the end. They remind me of a book for children I used to read, where you can play with the book by folding it. I chose one layout and one section of a building.
Considering the aspect of the illustrastions, this book is similar to my book. In the book “The four books of architecture” by Andrea Palladio, there are also a high number of accurate drawings, explaining the building structures and details. The drawings are one page or a double page big and add a good information to the written text.
Both books also have a nearly empty bookcover and a illustrated title page on the inside of the book. From the photos it looks as if they could be the same thickness aswell. The age difference of the books is about 250 years.
