Vollständige Anweisung, alle Arten von Kirchen wohl anzugeben
Leonhard Christoph Sturm

Keywords: wohl, Exempel, Manier
I have chosen the keyword “wohl” because it means as much as correct or accurate in that case. The book discusses how churches may or should be constructed. The author suggests to the reader what is acceptable and what is not. Therefore he sets standards for any future building.
There is a list of different “Exempel” (this means examples in English) in this book. Mostly floor plans and sectional plans are used to illustrate the examples. I assume that these examples discuss existing churches but also plans created for educational purposes. In addition, they lay out the qualities and the importance of these buildings. The examples teach people about good construction but they also set standards and can be used as references.
The word “Manier” is also used frequently. This word can be translated to manner but it can also mean manners (this is a subtle but very important difference because the German language does not differentiate between these two different meanings!). The word manner means the way or fashion in which a building appears. This means the person talking about this building is only observing it but not analysing and judging it. The word manners on the other hand implies that the construction and appearance of a church should be decent and proper. The construction, therefore, needs to follow certain rules. The viewer must have expectations and is judging the building on the basis of its appearance.
All in all, we can say that standards are an important concept of this book because the author tries to set them. He makes suggestions and sets rules for future buildings. He probably thinks that an architect should not constantly figure out new designs instead he should follow rules and order.
Construction is also an important concept of this book. By using a certain construction the standards can be followed. There are also a lot of construction drawings in the book which shows the importance of proper.
