My first spread consists of the pages 6 and 7. I think these pages are relevant because they are in the very beginning of the book and about half of each page is filled with footnotes which explain important terms. In this spread Pliny talks to Gallus about his country seat “Laurens” and its spaciousness and beauty.
My second spread goes from page 15 to 16. I chose these pages because the image on p. 16 is randomly/not aligned with the text. The image seems to show a window of Pliny’s villa. In the text, Pliny talks about the baths near his house and invites Gallus to visit him.
My third spread consists of the two illustration pages between page 70 and 71. I think it’s strange that the two pages aren’t numbered themselves.
